Why Pratunam, and why this building

Pratunam is Bangkok's garment district. Fabric wholesalers, sewing workrooms and the clothing trade are concentrated into a few blocks around Phetchaburi Road, which is why tailoring settled here rather than in the hotel districts. For a customer the effect is proximity: cloth suppliers and workrooms sit within walking distance of each other, so a tailor here can source a fabric and correct a garment faster than one operating alone across the city.

Platinum Fashion Mall is the largest wholesale fashion building in the district, spread across three connected zones. Being inside it matters for a practical reason rather than a marketing one — our cloth, our workroom and the room you are fitted in are all under one roof. When something needs adjusting there is no journey between the fitting and the bench, and that journey is where a day usually disappears in this trade.

Getting here

  • By BTS: Chit Lom and Ratchathewi are the two nearest stations, both a short walk or a very brief taxi ride from the mall.
  • By Airport Rail Link: Ratchaprarop is the closest stop, just north of Pratunam — the most direct route if you are coming straight from Suvarnabhumi.
  • By taxi or Grab: ask for Platinum Fashion Mall on Phetchaburi Road; every driver knows it. Be aware that Phetchaburi Road and the Ratchaprasong junction are congested for much of the day, so rail is often quicker despite the walk.
  • Inside the mall: take the escalators to the 2nd Floor and look for unit 419/A, Oxford 5. The floor and unit number are worth holding onto — Platinum is large and tailoring is spread across more than one level.

What is nearby

Pratunam market, the fabric wholesalers and Baiyoke Tower are all within a few minutes on foot, and Central World and the Ratchaprasong shopping area are a short distance south. That matters more than it sounds for a tailoring order: the gap between a first fitting and a collection is usually a few hours, and there is somewhere to spend it without leaving the district.

Your fitting, and after

What to expect at your fitting

A first visit takes about 30–45 minutes. We talk through what you actually need and how you will wear it, put cloth in your hands, take your measurements and agree the details before anything is cut. You will get an honest recommendation on bespoke versus made-to-measure — including when the cheaper route is the right one — a clear price from the price guide, and a realistic timeline, with express options if your trip is short. The full walkthrough is on what to expect at your fitting.

Two things to bring: the shoes you intend to wear with the suit, because trouser length is set from the shoe and a difference in heel height is the most common reason a hem comes out wrong; and your departure date, so the fitting schedule can be built backwards from it rather than around ours.

“Got 2 suits made here during my trip in Bangkok. I didn’t think it was possible because I would be leaving the next day but they were both ready for me in one day and got perfectly. Definitely worth a visit for quality suits that will…”

Re-order from abroad

Once you have been measured here, your measurements and pattern stay on file, so you can order more suits and shirts from anywhere and we ship them to you. The fitting happens once, in person; everything after that is remote. If your shape has changed we re-measure on your next visit rather than assuming the old pattern still holds. A lot of travelling and expat clients work this way for years after a single trip to Pratunam — see how remote re-ordering works.

Frequently Asked

Where exactly are you in Platinum Fashion Mall?

My Suit Bangkok is at unit 419/A, Oxford 5, on the 2nd Floor of Platinum Fashion Mall, Phetchaburi Road, Pratunam, Bangkok 10400. The floor and unit number matter more than the mall name here: Platinum runs to three connected zones across several floors, and tailoring is spread over more than one level, so asking at ground level will not reliably get you to us. Take the escalators to the 2nd Floor and look for the Oxford 5 units. Call +66 85 232 4113 and we will direct you from wherever you are standing.

How do I get to Pratunam?

The nearest stations are BTS Chit Lom and Ratchathewi, both a short walk or a very brief taxi ride, and the Airport Rail Link stops at Ratchaprarop just north of the mall. Rail is usually the faster choice: Phetchaburi Road and the Ratchaprasong junction carry heavy traffic for most of the day, and a taxi that looks quick on a map often is not. If you are coming straight from Suvarnabhumi, the Airport Rail Link to Ratchaprarop is the most direct route and avoids the expressway entirely.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome during mall hours, 10:00 to 20:00 every day including weekends. Booking ahead simply means the cloth you are interested in is already out and a tailor is free the moment you arrive, which matters most at weekends and in the last hours before closing. If you are working to a departure date, book — an early slot on your first day in Bangkok is worth more than any other hour of your trip, because it leaves room for a second fitting later in the week.

Can I re-order from abroad after visiting?

Yes. Once your measurements and the pattern corrected at your fittings are on file, you can order more suits and shirts from anywhere and we ship them to you. This is how a lot of our travelling and expat clients work after a first visit — the fitting happens once, in person, and everything after that is remote. The in-person step cannot be skipped for a first order, because a pattern built from emailed numbers is a guess rather than a fitting. Shirts re-order most easily of all.

What else is around the shop?

Platinum Fashion Mall sits in the middle of the Pratunam garment district, with the Pratunam market, fabric wholesalers and Baiyoke Tower within a few minutes on foot, and Central World and the Ratchaprasong shopping area a short distance south. The practical use of that for a tailoring client is filling the gap between a first fitting and a collection: that gap is usually a few hours, and there is somewhere to spend it without leaving the district or fighting the traffic twice.

Why does being inside the mall matter for tailoring?

Cloth suppliers, the workroom and the fitting room are all in the same building, so when a garment needs correcting there is no transport step between the fitting and the bench. That step is usually where a day disappears in this trade, and removing it is the main reason a short-trip commission is realistic here at all. My Suit Bangkok is open until 20:00 daily at 419/A Oxford 5, 2nd Floor, Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam, which means you can come back the same evening after a correction rather than the next day.
