For Returning Clients

Re-order from Anywhere

A lot of our clients came to Bangkok once and have been ordering ever since. The fitting happens in person, one time. Everything after that can be done from wherever you live.

Why the first visit cannot be skipped

We will not draft a first suit from measurements sent by email, and it is worth being clear about why rather than treating it as a policy. A tape measure captures dimensions. It does not capture that one shoulder sits lower than the other, that your posture leans forward slightly, or that your arms hang differently — and those are the things that decide whether a jacket hangs cleanly or pulls across the back. Most people have at least one of them and have never been told.

A pattern corrected on your actual body at a fitting is a different object from a pattern generated from numbers. Once that correction exists, it holds. That is what makes everything afterwards possible at a distance.

How a re-order runs

  1. Message us with what you want — another suit in a different cloth, more shirts, a jacket to go with existing trousers.
  2. We pull your pattern and confirm what we have on file, including the details of the last garment so a new one can match or deliberately differ.
  3. Cloth is chosen from photographs taken in daylight with weight and composition given, or from physical swatches posted to you if you would rather feel it.
  4. We confirm the total — garment and shipping — before anything is cut.
  5. We make and ship. Making time is the same as an in-person order.

What re-orders best

Shirts are the easiest and the most common. The pattern is simpler, the fit is less dependent on posture, and most clients order three to five at a time. Trousers re-order well for the same reason. Suits and jackets re-order reliably once you have a proven pattern, and are where the value of having been measured properly really shows.

What is harder at a distance is anything where your shape has genuinely changed — significant weight change, or a gap of several years. In that case we would rather wait until your next visit than send you something built on an assumption.

Choosing cloth you cannot touch

Photographs handle colour reasonably and weight not at all, so we describe weight and behaviour rather than relying on the image. For Bangkok clients ordering to a cooler country the advice often reverses: the tropical-weight wool that is right here can be too light for a European winter, and that is worth saying before you order rather than after. Where a decision is genuinely close, ask for swatches — posting a few pieces of cloth is faster and cheaper than remaking a suit. You can also browse all 3,052 cloths in our sample books online, filter by colour, weight and sample book, and send us the code you want held for your order.

Being honest about the limits

Remote work is not the same as being in the room, and we would rather set the expectation properly. Small corrections can usually be handled by a local tailor working to our written instructions. Anything structural — the shoulder above all — waits until you are next in Pratunam. If you are planning a trip back, it is worth saving the more ambitious commission for that visit and using remote orders for the straightforward repeats in between.

Made-to-measure suit by My Suit Bangkok, cut from a pattern kept on file

Frequently Asked

Can I order a suit without coming to Bangkok?

Only if we have measured you before. The first fitting has to happen in person — a pattern drafted from numbers you send us is a guess, and a guess is what off-the-peg already is. Once you have been measured at My Suit Bangkok in Pratunam and we have a pattern corrected on your body across a fitting, everything after that can be done remotely from anywhere. The in-person step exists because a tape measure captures dimensions but not posture, shoulder slope or how your arms hang — and those decide whether a jacket hangs cleanly or pulls across the back.

How long do you keep my measurements?

Indefinitely. Your measurements and the corrected pattern from your fittings stay on file, which is the whole basis of remote re-ordering. Clients come back years later and the pattern is still there — we re-measure on your next visit if your shape has changed rather than assuming it has not, because a pattern built for a different body is worse than no pattern at all. Nothing is deleted, and there is no expiry on a file we already hold, so a gap of several years is not a problem in itself.

How do I choose fabric from abroad?

We send photographs of the cloth in daylight along with weight and composition, and for anything you are unsure about we can post physical swatches. Weight matters more than colour and is the thing photographs convey worst, so we will tell you how a cloth behaves rather than only how it looks. If a decision is genuinely close, ask for swatches — posting a few pieces of cloth from Bangkok is far faster and cheaper than remaking a suit that turned out heavier than you pictured.

How is a remote order shipped and how long does it take?

Making time is the same as an in-person order once cloth is confirmed — usually a few days — so the variable is the courier rather than the workroom. Shipping is arranged with you and depends on the destination and the service you choose, and My Suit Bangkok sends garments from Pratunam to wherever you are. We confirm the total, including shipping, before making starts; there is no bill that arrives afterwards. If a deadline matters, say so when you order and we will tell you honestly whether the courier can meet it.

What if the garment does not fit when it arrives?

Tell us and send photographs of it on you, front and side, standing normally. Small corrections can often be done by a local tailor working to our written instructions, and we will describe exactly what needs changing rather than leaving them to interpret it. Anything structural waits until your next visit, because a shoulder cannot be judged from a photograph. This is precisely why the first in-person fitting is non-negotiable — it is what makes the pattern trustworthy enough to work from at a distance in the first place.

Is it cheaper to re-order remotely?

The garment costs the same; you save the trip. Shipping is the only addition. What remote clients actually save is time — there are no fitting appointments to schedule, because that work was done once, in person, and does not need repeating. For anyone who came to My Suit Bangkok on a trip to Pratunam and liked the result, that first visit is the only one the process genuinely requires. Everything after it is a message, a cloth choice and a courier.
